Mayor Benjamin Magalong inspects areas hit by prolonged monsoon rains

Mayor Benjamin Magalong inspected several areas in Baguio City affected by prolonged monsoon rains and successive weather disturbances on Aug. 31, accompanied by City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office head Engr. Charles Carame and Public Order and Safety Division personnel led by Daryll Longid.

The inspection covered Barangays Gibraltar and Salud Mitra and the Sto. Niño Slaughter Compound following residents’ reports of soil erosion, damaged infrastructure, flooding and leaning utility poles.

The Politiko, who chairs the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, led the inspection to assess conditions and determine appropriate interventions for affected communities.

The city government is coordinating with concerned local offices and national government agencies to address reported hazards and infrastructure concerns amid continued adverse weather conditions.
