Gov. Bersamin Orders Suspension of All Ferry Crossings Amid Rising Abra River

Governor Eustaquio Bersamin, together with Vice Governor Anne Bersamin, has ordered the temporary suspension of all ferry crossings across Abra due to the rising water level of the Abra River amid the prevailing southwest monsoon or Habagat.

The suspension is being implemented under the supervision of the Provincial Engineer’s Office as a precautionary measure to protect residents and prevent accidents as water levels continue to rise.

Residents, particularly those living near riverbanks and flood-prone areas, were advised to remain alert, avoid crossing rivers, and prioritize their safety.

The Provincial Government of Abra and the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office continue to monitor the situation and urged communities to remain vigilant as the Habagat persists.
